New Leak Shows How Samsung Galaxy Note 7’s Iris Scanner Works

In a previous report on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 7, we made mention of an iris scanner which will serve as a faster alternative to unlock the phone . The latest leak seen on
Weibo confirm its presence.

One of the leaked images comes with an instructional screen that contains information on how to unlock with the iris scanner, and another image shows what the smartphone would look like when the iris scanner is turned on.

According to the guide, the distance between the device and the user’s face should be about 25-35 centimeters, while ensuring that the eyes are positioned to point directly towards the two circles at the top of the screen, once this step is complete, iris recognition procedure begins, and the phone is unlocked.
The option to unlock with the fingerprint scanner is not totally eliminated and can be accessed through the home button. There are claims from a Zauba listing that the flagship device will be water resistant due to an unconfirmed IP68 certification rumors, making it the first in the Note series to have such feature. It is expected that the unit come with either the latest Exynos chipset or Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor.

It is likely that users will start purchasing the device as from August 2, the same day it would be revealed at the Unpacked 2016 event. This strategy will help the Korean giant meet up with the 2016 Olympics which kicks off on August 5. The price is yet to be announced.
